how does S60 record length of the shot when approach shot hits the green and it no longer tracks putt shots
how does S60 record length of the shot when approach shot hits the green and it no longer tracks putt shots
The watch will usually detect distance a few different ways.
-From a tee shot and onwards, it will use golf course mapping and compare your current position with the fixed positions of F-M-B of the green.
-Distance of your last shot is measured from your last saved GPS position to your next shot, or next saved GPS position.
-When you approach the green, you will usually get measurements for F-M-B of green. If necessary you can move the flag position on the watch to override these measurements. You will then get a distance from your current position to where you moved the flag.

I re-frase my question; I take my iron8 and hit my approach shot on the green, how does Garmin software measure, and record iron8 shot length of my approach-shot because it does not record putts....S60 does no know where I'm putting on the green.....?
Or is the distance of that approach shot relative to current S60 map flag position?
