Courses options is not displayed on Garmin Express Mac version.

I'd like to reinstall the course on my S60 but I can't find courses options on Garmin Express Mac version.

  • You could try to download Garmin Express again...I'm on my 3rd S60...They have all displayed the... "CAN'T UNLOCK MAPS" error...Bit difficult to try to fix it when "Course options" is not available. My course options have disappeared as well... Downloaded a fresh version of Garmin Express which brought it back up again, but the the next time I connected the S60 "course options" disappeared again. Don't expect a solution from Garmin Express.

  • If you are still having issues finding the option to reinstall the course updates, please reach out to Garmin Golf Product Support. We would be happy to assist you further.

  • Garmin-Rob...I've been 'reaching out' to Garmin support for over 2 years since purchasing the S60. I'm now on my 3rd watch because whatever Garmin instructed me to do they all continued to display the "CAN'T UNLOCK MAPS" error...I've only recently received my current S60 (3rd one), and had to report the "CAN'T UNLOCK MAPS" problem to Garmin support again.

Very frustrating experience, because when all the various' Garmin supports' instructions hadn't worked, I was having to send e-mails, of which many were ignored, I also spent many hours on the phone. Whatever method one chooses to contact Garmin support you will get a different person every time, so you will have to explain the same problems all over again, to a new support agent.

I've only had my 3rd Garmin S60 a few weeks, and after all the latest e-mails, phone calls, and failed fixes, the only solution they offered me was another replacement...Who in their right mind would bother going for a 4th watch, when they've had so many problems..?

It has also cost me to get the replacements I've had, as Garmin won't pay for the returns.

  • It's dropped off the forums I think but this used to work on my S60. Now have the S62 which doesn't seem to get the error.

Attach watch to computer via Garmin Express
Open Garmin drive via File Explorer or Finder (Mac)
If you want insurance, copy the Garmin folder to the PC as a backup.
Highlight all entries in the Garmin Folder - delete and then empty recycle bin
Eject watch, turn off (centre button - slightly longer hold and the off icon appears), back on and then attach to PC
Garmin Express will sync - mine installed a time zone file
    Re-install all golf courses

  • Are you saying to delete everything in the Garmin folder...All the folders and all the files..?

Have been instructed, many times to delete certain files...Normally GMAP files. I've tried numerous other methods suggested by Garmin support', but the 'maps' error message always came back.

Not sure any recommendation for reloading the courses is going to work for me anyway, because my latest replacement S60 couldn't load all the courses from day1 of receiving it.

When I was told to send my previous faulty S60 back, Garmin said I would receive an 'as new' refurbished watch. One would think these 'refurbed' watches would be be thoroughly tested before being sent out, but no, because as soon as I received it, I was having to report problems. The upshot for resolving the problems on my 'as new' S60, weeks later, was...."send it back at your cost".

    Poor show!

  • Yes - it worked for me and must be worth a try.The watch firmware downloads everything it needs when it sees no Garmin folder and the error clears. For some reason the S60 works like an external drive and gets upset when it's removed from the pc/mac. The S62 seems to work in a different way.

Garmin don't seem to have the desired support that maybe others do but the product is good when working.
