Garmin S60 - Running GPS accuracy

When I am running, with my S60, the GPS is not accurate at all.

See an example, where I was following a straight street. Is there a way to improve GPS accuracy ?

    It is unusual that a GPS track is off as much as seen in your picture provided. When you go to the Run activity, after your S60 no longer says "Wait" while acquiring the GPS satellites and shows "Ready" and goes green, give it another 2-3 minutes before you start your run to see if it improves your GPS track. If it doesn't, you can try resetting your watch to see if the GPS issue improves.

    My S60 takes ages to find GPS when I select run or walk.. is there a known solution to this?

    • Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky (no obstructions, buildings, patio covers, or dense foliage).1
    • It may take up to 15 minutes to acquire a GPS signal.
    • Ensure your device has the latest software installed.
    • Check for updates. Update Golf Courses and Device Software on an Approach Golf Device
    • Ensure your Extended Prediction Orbit (EPO) or Connected Predictive Ephemeris (CPE) files are current. These files allow select Approach models to predict where satellites will be in the sky, which reduces GPS acquisition time. Some Approach models allow you to check to see if EPO or CPE is current or expired in the About menu of your watch. If your watch is showing your CPE as Missing or Expired, this can typically be resolved by syncing the watch with Garmin ExpressTm software or the Garmin GolfTm app as doing so will update the predictive orbit files.
    • Perform a soft reset by powering the unit off and back on (check the owner’s manual for steps on turning off the device).
