Outdoor Watch is Not Recognized by Computer or Garmin Applications

My PC is not recognising the S60 when I connect via USB. I have done followed instructions in above procedure but as yet no fix.

I connect to another PC and its recognised immediately.

Any suggestions on what to change on my windows config?

  • I was just trying a few things including reinstalling USB drivers etc but did nothing so I decided to change the watch setting to "Garmin" instead of "Mass Storage" and voila recognised immediately by PC and Garmin Express and updates perfectly.

    But isnt this contrary to recommended setting?

  • I had this issue and your suggestion helped me. I changed the setting to 'Garmin' and nothing happened initially. I shut down my watch and restarted. Once it was restarted, I reconnected it to the computer. The watch then prompted me for 'Use Mass Storage?". I clicked on 'Yes' on the watch. Once so, my watch was finally recognized on my computer. Once so, Garmin Express also found it. Thank you for the tip!
