Software Version 7.30

Hello Garmin,

according to the change history

Changes made from version 7.10 to 7.30:

Fixed issue with not always syncing auto shot data as part of scorecard upload at the end of a golf round.

this update will just fix a minor issue.

I'm wondering what about the major issues (basic functionality), which are requested for ages, e.g. manual shot recognition or track of flag position.
Does that mean, Garmin still ignores customer needs and wasted more than 8 month for such a (minor) update.

Will Garmin ever implement this basic Golf functionality?

Hear hear.. never a new Garmin product for me if they don’t update a major issue.

Not recording full rounds was a major issue in my humble opinion.

That said try show them how other competing vendors do it like this...

I'm sure others do it too but there are two right there. Hopefully Chris can expand on what's being done here.

I will be happy to give everyone an answer to the conversations within this thread. We write up a detailed report for customer requests and they get submitted to our Golf product engineers for consideration. However, due to the nature of the technology industry and how quickly our products must get updated to stay relevant, new features will mostly appear in our new products but sometimes will be added into an older generation.

The latest update to the golf android app today is fantastic - so far so good - it provides the easy ability to add shots through the app - maybe not as good as being able to do this on the watch, but still very handy! I also get why tracking flag position is very hard as gps has a 5 metre plus minus error factor.

However.... some of the new features avail in the s62 (dist to bunkers, water etc) could be added to the s60 - we assume that garmin don't do this to increase sales of the s62. BUT all this does is piss off all of your existing clients - I know a couple of guys whose next golf watch will not be a garmin for this very reason.

Tell me it is impossible to add these by a simple software update to the s60? Do the right thing - add these features...

This is great news. I can’t wait to try it out next year when they finally allow us to golf again in my state...ugh!

Thank you for taking the time to reply, but I think that your text just increases dissatisfaction and proves a point that the poster is trying to make: Garmin is not answering repetitively asked questions..

Your customers are experiencing a problem / shortage. Not just one, but dozens are asking the same handful of things. I think it is possible to solve it, I might be wrong, but there has never been a relevant statement from Garmin about it!

The "i will forward your suggestion" or "fill in the request form" or "this forum is for users to exchange experiences" is the typical reply... Been there, done that multiple times, so what is the outcome?

No answer = dissatisfaction and bluntly said: disrespectful to those who buy your products

The magic formula: question > answer

I understand that not everything can be implemented. But I do not understand the following:

The engineers have received the same request (for example manually triggering the autoshot function) at least a dozen times during the last few years, again and again and again... So? What is their answer??

1) it is possible but we are not going to do it

2) it is possible and we are going to do it

3) it is not possible so we are not going to do it

Until such an answer comes, people will repetitively keep asking for the same things and keep getting frustrated about not getting an answer. Like talking to a brick wall..
