S60 APAC freezes when saving activities / GPS not working

Hi,

my S60 is making trouble:

When using skiing, walk, run or bike, the watch will not start GPS for the activity (even if I stay same location for half hour).

If I stop the activity and try to save, the watch freezes while showing the "saving screen". The freeze cannot be stopped by pressing any combination of buttons and the battery is quickly depleted.

The freeze can only be unlocked, when connecting to a charger.

Switching off and restart does not help.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

There are a few things that can be tried that may resolve your issues:

1) Hard Reset it

2) Restore Default Settings

3) Sync and Update using Garmin Express on your computer

This just started happening to me as well, after update 7.4 was pushed. I've tried resorting defaults, hard reset, and garmin express - no luck. Wish there was an option to downgrade back to 7.3.

My S60 just started doing the same thing. Not saving activities. Complete battery depletion in less than 12 hours.

Hard Reset was not working, however 3) synching with Garmin Express seems to have solved the issue.

I am sorry you are having an issue with your Approach S60 after you updated the software to version 7.40. The update was released 6+ months back and we have not seen any freezing behavior patterns. The concern would be your watch has developed an issue that needs to be resolved.

I too am having the same problem with my S60. After a hard reset it does the same again. This is the second S60 where this is happening.

I am sorry you are having an issue with your Approach S60. Please reach out to Garmin Golf Support USA again since you have a North America model.

I have had my s60 for a few weeks. When I go to activity / walk the screen does not go to ready. It stays in wait for gps. If I press the activity button the activity starts. The walk is recorded correctly. I can even see the map of the walk in Garmin Connect (windows pc) so the gps is working. It did go to ready for the first couple of walks. Software version 2.5

Update After a sync to Garmin Express the watch goes to ready.

I have had the same problem with this. It has occurred multiple times and each time I have had to factory reset the device. Basically, every time I plug it into my computer and connect to Garmin express I have to go through the same process, The software update must be the cause of this as I can't see it being an issue with the hardware which performs perfectly after a factory reset. Do you ever test your updates?
