  • Check for my direct message, and I'll do my best to give you a hand in helping out with this.

  • Hi Garmin-Cody

Lets keep this on the Forum pages, so that everyone can see Garmin's commitment to dealing with this request.

A further suggestion would be to have a Garmin owned post, showing what developments you are working on, month by month, with updates and due dates.  As part of that post, you could have a poll for future updates and enhancements, so that the users of the software, because after all the users are the ones using your hardware and software, can make requests.  You can then take this information and publish a new list say quarterly.  Its an easy suggestion to put in place, provides users with a meaningful place to put their thougts, and allows Garmin to be transparent in their updates and developments.

I'm sure if this were done, the bad feeling of Garmin not caring about aftermarket software updates, would vanish overnight.

  • Occasionally I reply in the post letting users know I am going to direct message them, as I am not going to discuss, nor confirm their account information through the comments feed, per our terms of use...that way I can submit their feedback officially through their Garmin account.

In regards to your suggestion...with this being a forums community, I am responsible for the Golf specific sections as a moderator of the site. Garmin typically does not create discussion posts, as this is to allow users to direct the flow of discussions naturally...vs us swaying conversation topics. So users posting about the topic of a feature request, concerns, how-to, etc...I handle and respond accordingly. So for feature requests, users can comment or reach out to me, and I can get their account officially submitted through the appropriate channels...which leads to their feedback going to the teams responsible for considering feedback for future changes.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding any of the above

    Thanks,

  • Hi, Garmin Cody. If there is a fix, please share with the whole Forum. We are all waiting for our expensive excellent hardware to be supported with excellent software.

  • Don't worry jazz I will make sure to let the thread know the outcome. Straight away I can't see this being a scalable solution that forum moderator goes through your rounds to clear out a dud shot. Excellent hardware let down by sh1t software, and I am a software developer I know how easily this can be fixed... I am thinking to return the watch and claim a full refund and go with a brand dedicated to pleasing their customers

  • Hi, yes I do have some comments on this.

The community is raising these issues, on this very Forum.  My suggestion is for GARMIN to take on board these comments, discuss them internally with your teams, and then feed back formally to this forum on what will be done, and by when.  This would not disrupt the natural discussions, as you would be using these discussions to inform yourselves of what the forum is asking for.  Most companies now do this, as it demonstrates transparency, either externally with users, or internally with staff, as it shows that the voices are being listened to, and when appropriate, the necessary actions / updates are made known, and dates then hold people and teams to account.

This issue has been around for quite sometime, we are on Page 13 of this thread, so my question is - "When will Garmin make the update, that will allow users to edit their own Gold Club Data".  To date, I have seen no firm confirmation from Garmin on this question, therefore to show respect to all the users, please could Garmin confirm.  If the answer is "Never", then please share this, so that users have the choice of remaining with Garmin products, or going elsewhere.

The reason I suggestion that Garmin consider sharing their development aims (with a top 5 or 10 development items), with timescales, is again to show the Forum and other users that Garmin is taking the feedback seriously, and is prioritizing accordingly.  Otherwise, the Forum chatter continues with no conclusions in sight, and users feel like Garmin does not care.

Come on Garmin, show us you care, and prove by way of demonstration and being held to account, that you are actively pursuing this (and other) updates requested by the forum users.  If I was the head of development at Garmin, I would actively pursue this request, and post regular updates on development items.  This will create a good feeling buzz, people will start talking more about Garmin, and allow users to anticipate key updates and look forward to using their hardware and software, that they have paid handsomely for.  This approach would make Garmin stand ahead of their competitors.

  • I've been following this thread for many years and to my disappointment nothing has been resolved.  I hear many people saying they would rather get a refund and be done with Garmin.  As a former Arccos user, yes Arccos has better software, however, better software comes with a monthly subscription too.  While Garmin does have its share of short comings, I prefer to avoid monthly subscriptions fees.  Yes my putter says the longest shot was 445 yards, but overall the averages level out to realistic numbers.  Would I go back to Arccos?  Probably not if Garmin still gives a me a free app.  If Garmin started charging for the app, I would be gone no doubt.  For now I enjoy the Garmin S62 and just ignore the app's faults.

It would be nice to see a fix from Garmin.

  • Changing the max. distance is in my eyes more a point for the Golf app than for the S60 ...

  • After no improvements for 2 years I gave up on Garmin and just got an Apple Ultra 2 watch and Golfshot.    Played my first round and so far I am happy with the change.

  • In the past two years, Garmin has made many improvements and updates to the software and features on the Approach S60. The Approach S60 was first released back in 2016, and in the past two years Garmin has released some major updates for the Approach S60 that were not advertised available with the initial release of the watch. The green contours being one of the recent major features, where user's with the Garmin Golf Membership can get a heat map and roll direction on courses that contour mapping features.

Below are link to the various updates to the Approach S60 in the past two years, including the change log explaining the improvements on the page for reference if needed:
