The option to manually edit and change average or max distance for clubs is currently not offered by design, and the inability to make an edit to those distances instantly is not an issue with our products…
In the past two years, Garmin has made many improvements and updates to the software and features on the Approach S60. The Approach S60 was first released back in 2016, and in the past two years Garmin…
The Approach G80 offers the ability to measure and assign the club to shots:
Currently this option only available using the AutoShot and Club Prompt features that record GPS distances to the scorecard during rounds of golf.
If there are any recorded shots contributing to outlier…
Garmin is always working to innovate features for products...so there is always the possibility of new features, and improvements to the methods of managing or recording your golf data.
The club distance…
Totally agree with you. At least show which course that MAX is recorded. This is a pretty simple feature that can be done in few days for one Software engineer.
I feel like Garmin did not put much attention…
Thanks for the message, but it’s not giving any confidence to the users that it’s being taken seriously. I’m not sure what your app developers are working on, but there’s not a huge amount changing or…
I thought this issue was only 2 or 3 years in the making...it turns out to be about 4 yrs. Garmin has no intentions of addressing the problem. The answers and solutions we get are ludicrous. Garmin, do the right thing and buy these sold dumb weights back or give us an update that will correct these issues and really, don't send me something asking me to describe the problem like you don't know.
We do not suggest deleting all of your rounds to resolve the concern with the max and average distance corrections. Currently we require the correction to be made to the scorecard where the outlier distance occurred.
Our team is still in the process of reviewing user feedback, and we are not saying "no" to the feature...it's still being considered for potential changes in the future.
It's completely understandable as a user myself, that it can be frustrating figuring out which scorecard needs corrected...especially if you recorded a lot of them.
Cody, can’t think this is anything but bull…Garmin’s putting a lot of new watch’s out with what appears no intention of working on the golf side of these issues. Bottom line is this watch does not do what it’s advertised to do and Garmin’s unwilling to address the issue!
I understand what you mean completely, and currently there is not announcements regarding that option...but as soon as there is, I will definitely update the forums, and users will be notified that have had their accounts added to the ticket.
While editing max and average club distance values is not something we have advertised, I would like to assure you that Garmin is paying attention to the feedback on this one for further consideration on potential future updates, and additions to our products.
If the answer was no on that feature potentially being added, we would let our users know that it is not intended on being offered.
I recently purchased an s70 and my max distance for a pitching wedge is 367m according to the Garmin golf app golfbag, which is ridiculous, I'm playing off 29 and I'm not rory mcillroy. I have looked through my rounds to try and fix it. No luck. Garmin why have I such a bad experience after spending so much on this watch? Do you even have any algorithms to purge out the outliers after 5 rounds? If this doesn't get resolved I will be looking for a full refund and will try a competitor I was also looking at closely
To correct the outlier distance the continued to record during one of your round, you would simply need to correct the shot from the scorecard it was recorded on.
Below is a link to the Garmin Support page showing the instructions to edit your scorecards using the Garmin Golf app, to correct the outlier distance for your pitching wedge, once you identify the scorecard where the distance was recorded to long, you can then remove the shot or correct the shot if you have an idea of what the distance was originally:
Cody I have already said I looked through my rounds since I purchased the S70 to find it and I couldn't. I wasted another 30 minutes this morning to do the same. Have I discovered a bug with your sub par software where there is a ghost shot somewhere?
Could you identify which round and hole the shot is on for me, I am using the same email for Garmin golf and Garmin connect .
I also take it your software developers don't employ any algorithms to eliminate outliers after a number of rounds? Using your app to edit shots is not a very user friendly experience either.
I have this device 2 months and this is definitely a show stopper for me, the fact I can't edit outliers seems like a huge flaw in your software. I will be seeking full refund and will go to a competitor that appears to have their act together.
I too have the same issue of having 100's of rounds of golf to wade through. Even thou i have tried, its proving imposible to find the imposter shots that affect the club distance. What I struggle to understand, is why is GARMIN refusing to add this key update to their software. If the data exists in a database, then allow users to access their own data, and lets not loose sight of the fact its the users data, not GARMINS. This would be a very easy coding issue to the App, as its reading this data when it gives you the shot distance. This is a key update to bring a GARMIN product in line with the other industry products that have this feature built in.
Please can GARMIN give us a "Yes we will address this" and give a date, or "No we are not going to make this change". That way users have a choice of staying with GARMIN and accepting the poor service, or go and use an alternative product.
Come on GARMIN, let your user know what your prepared to do for them.
Because Garmin doesn't care it seems. This issue has been going on for years in this forum and nothing but bs from Garmin. Great hardware, no subscriptions but highly overpriced to make up for it, costing more than a high-end apple or samung smart watch.
I sold my S62 and stuck with my laser and the use of golf logix app for great overview of holes/hazards etc.
