  • Would be nice to get a Garmin comment once

My sincere apologies there have been no changes made by our Golf engineering team. We continue to gather requests for distance improvements. Please note, we only comment when we have new information directly from engineering to provide you. What Garmin-Rob last posted remains relevant and the same today.

  • Thanks for the message, but it’s not giving any confidence to the users that it’s being taken seriously. I’m not sure what your app developers are working on, but there’s not a huge amount changing or being added, and this would be a simple fix, and one the users are begging to be added. Your competitors apps have this function, do you not want to compete with them, and make yours better.

If your app developers are so busy, why not publish the list of things your working on, and let the users rank them in a priority order.

having developed multiple apps and databases, this is a really simple bit of coding to read the data set, and allow it to be edited.

come on Garmin, be more like your hardware and be active with software upgrades.

  • Yeah Garmin yah dogs. This is an opportunity to be big. To be something. Don’t look back on your life in 10 years time and say “this should have been us”. Take the opportunity and run with it!

  • I’d like this feature on occasions a club shows incorrect max distance eg 400 yards

  • How is this still not added as a feature!

it would be so easy to have a toggle on/off for manual distances.

  • Hi Rob,

Requests have probably slowed as this was a function that was asked to be added 3 years ago and nothing has happened. What do we need to do to get this moving as clearly this forum isn’t helping…

  • Garmin don’t care they bring out more expensive products for the [Removed] to by and be disappointed. As you say you could set a 20 or 30 yard window for most clubs so the an 8 iron chip wouldn’t count or a Duff shot. Having an easy way to check the drive you flushed would also be a bonus. Having to go back and edit rounds is painful.

Edited March 9th, 2023: Removed one word above per the Garmin Forums Terms of Use.

  • Yep, $1600 Fenix, should have checked the app first. I left a 1 star review with the explanation as to why. Watch is great but the app is terrible!

  • Hi everyone, I started this post 3 years ago and besides getting impractical suggestions from garmin they did nothing to improve the situation
my suggestion, instead of answering this post, lets all start a new post on this problem, maybe that will wake garmin, swamp them, maybe the numers will do it Slight smile

  • The option to manually edit and change average or max distance for clubs is currently not offered by design, and the inability to make an edit to those distances instantly is not an issue with our products, as a quick edit option is being requested as a feature option per experience some users would prefer to correct distances concerns.

Currently, the proper solution for this is to pinpoint the rounds where a distance was recorded incorrectly, and remove the shot and tap the same location to have an un-assigned club not affecting any in the list.

Deleting an accumulation of rounds (including the majority of shots that should be accurate is counterintuitive to the effort and diligence our users make to ensure every club prompt is entered before taking another shot, confirming the stats, and entering the score prior to teeing off on the next hole, to prevent typical causes of the inaccuracies occurring,

We are always looking at ways at improving user experience, and it is possible we may at some point offer a more convenient/shorter time option to identify rounds where distance outliers occurred to make a faster edit removing the incorrect distance from averages.
