The option to manually edit and change average or max distance for clubs is currently not offered by design, and the inability to make an edit to those distances instantly is not an issue with our products…
In the past two years, Garmin has made many improvements and updates to the software and features on the Approach S60. The Approach S60 was first released back in 2016, and in the past two years Garmin…
The Approach G80 offers the ability to measure and assign the club to shots:
Currently this option only available using the AutoShot and Club Prompt features that record GPS distances to the scorecard during rounds of golf.
If there are any recorded shots contributing to outlier…
Garmin is always working to innovate features for products...so there is always the possibility of new features, and improvements to the methods of managing or recording your golf data.
The club distance…
Totally agree with you. At least show which course that MAX is recorded. This is a pretty simple feature that can be done in few days for one Software engineer.
I feel like Garmin did not put much attention…
Thanks for the message, but it’s not giving any confidence to the users that it’s being taken seriously. I’m not sure what your app developers are working on, but there’s not a huge amount changing or…
I invested a lot of money in the Garmin products and for the most part they are excellent. however I dont really want to go over my game shot by shot looking for errors and I dont have the time during the round.my hybrid max is 511 yards my 6i max 540 without going back through the 50 rounds to find the errant shot it will remain.
I'm not saying I'm not at fault for being more diligent but for some of these obvious errors the software shouldn't allow them to be recorded.
I have CT10 on all clubs so I don't associate which club I'm playing for which shot it is automatic, there for no dummy club.
Each golfer may want a slightly different metric to track and thats ok, the soft ware should have the flexibility to meet the requirements of all users.
When I say 30 yards per club this could be 50 but a 540 yard 6i really?
I hit my 6i between 145 and 170 yards depending on elevation and wind the average being 160 yards, I'm looking to see how my consistency and distance improves with each club but I dont want to spend a lot of time after the round double checking is all.
This is also a big problem for me. I have hundreds of rounds recorded over the last two seasons, and I can’t find which holes in which rounds are responsible for my erroneous max distances. Every club has wrong Max’s for me now (235 yard PW, 176 yard putts, etc.), and I’m sure it’s knocking my average distances way off. Would the simple fix be to link the max distances in the app to the shot for each club, like you do for the long drive? That way we would know where the problem shots are, and make the changes ourselves without having to search through every round/every shot...

I feel like Garmin did not put much attention on Software APP UI/UX, instead, they put more effort into the hardware device design.
July 2021 - How are we regarding your request to easier change the average club distances ? Does Garmin consider your request or is it just polite talking ?
My putter is showing 278yd max. May ditch the driver
Hello Garmin,
we are > two years down the line and the ability to change club distance has stil not been implemented.
retiring clubs and letting new data accrue is not a solution, neither is sifting through many old rounds trying to find the "false" shot allocations
Please do something

This doesn't seem to work for me. Before finding this thread I did just that. But if I delete the wrong distance (for example because I couldn't find my ball and gave up the hole in Marchplay etc and got 300m for a i7) the wrong Max score doesnt go away, even after deleting the wrong shot!
I wish we could add more than 25 clubs to bag so I could put in 8 iron, 8i miss, 8i chip etc, or tag shots as miss hit, pitch/chip etc and keep statistics on each.
Was this feature added?
The App doesn't seem to save the distance from my Approach R10 driving range sessions either, surely that should be a feature?
