Anyone having issues with distances being off? I have the S60 and it is off by about 5-7 yds when I stand on course markers. It is showing more yds than actual distance .
  • It sounds like your device is working as designed.
Today's GPS receivers are extremely accurate, thanks to their parallel multi-channel design. Our receivers are quick to lock onto satellites when first turned on. They maintain a tracking lock in dense tree-cover or in urban settings with tall buildings. Certain atmospheric factors and other error sources can affect the accuracy of GPS receivers. Garmin GPS receivers are typically accurate to within 10 meters. Accuracy can be better on the water or an open field like a golf course.

Other than GPS signal, Golf Courses do change and making sure that your Approach is update and has the latest version of the courses is important too.
  • Well that is disappointing to hear. Not sure if you are a golfer yourself but 7yds is a lot .Not that my game is at an elite level but certainly would cause me to choose a different club by times. Coming from a Skycaddie device which was very precise it is a bit of a letdown .Looks as though I have a very expensive gadget on my wrist . Don't recall reading that anywhere in the promotional material.

A lot of issues can have influence of the GPS: clouds, trees, buildings ...
  • Yes, I recently purchased an Approach S60 and have found all the distances to be greater than what I measure with my
