S60 - Suggestions , and dashboard issue

Hi all

Firstly - Loving the watch. I have been through TomTom & Golfbuddy WTX - But the S60 is awesome

So I have 2 questions to ask.

1. My score is showing on the dashboard, but it is showing as an even par round (Which is not possible) is there any way to update/correct this?
2. When scoring your shots after the game (I will go in and check) I am wondering how best to handle when you might hit your drive into a hazard.
----- So shot 1 would be the drive (220m) but into the hazard, so from there you would play your 3rd shot.
----- Any suggestions?
  • Hi.

    We need more information:
(1.) Scoring method? Handicap set on or not? Did you enter the score on the green when the scoring screen came up? I guess no. I don't think that you can fix a messed up round.
(2.) The S60 does not count penalty strokes. You have to enter the score on the green (see 1.)

Scoring method is set to stroke play. Handicap is not set.
I always enter the score on the green, and go online afterwards to 'up date' anything that might be incorrect. Like accidentally recorded shot. The issue on point 1 is that the round is showing as level in the 1 dashboard, but +12 (for the same round in the other dashboard)

I enter the score on the green, but you should be allowed to indicate penalty strokes. I thin we might be missing each other.

If you look at the Garmin 2 photo - The 1st shot was hit into a Hazard, I marked it as OB. So where it shows 2-shot, we should be able to make that a 3, as it is in actual my 3rd shot. So the 3rd shot did not carry the water, thus that is (3rd in, drop 4, play 5) so then that shot should be marked as 5th shot.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1360023.png
  • OK. Now i see what you mean.
I think this is more likely an issue with Garmin Connect. I don't know much about Connect, so i'm out ;)

  • I would create a feature request in the Connect forum and posts in all the device sub-forums so we can all support the proposed change.
On reflection you may want to change it from penalties to extra strokes, or played from the same place, or lost ball. With the coming of the new rules stroke and distance almost disappears but playing from the same place is still an option.
However penalty areas will appear with the new rules (same as hazards) and the need for provisional balls will disappear.
If there was a change to the scoring on the device it could be possible to add a button to the drive direction screen where you could add "extra strokes" and the number similar to scoring. You could have the default for extra strokes be 0 with an option to continue as most holes will not have extra strokes.
  • Though tedfroop has made some great suggestions.

Garmin is always willing to keep improving our devices and we do that by listening to the people that use them. Your suggest is one of those things Garmin wants to hear about. Please feel free to share this idea and any other idea you have at: https://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas
