Premium maps not loading.

Please can someone for the love of god help me?
I've called customer support and still no solution.

I have Garmin Golf App & Garmin Connect App. 
Both are connected and synced properly to my watch.

I've downloaded Garmin Express and have updated everything to date.

I've cleared my browser cache and history.

I've started the golf round through my watch with the Garmin Golf App open and running on my iPhone.

I've disconnected my watch from my iPhone, deleted both apps, re-downloaded them, and re-connected my watch.

The premium map still never downloads.

When I click 'View Course Stats' in the app after a round, it still gives me an error.

What is going on? I'm paying for something that doesn't even work.

How do I explain this and get my money back? Who do I even call to get my money back?

I'm sorry to keep bugging you, but man the lack of a solution is frustrating.

The only thing is that the premium membership is working on the Garmin Golf app, as I can see the green contour on there.

  • I am sorry to see your frustrations with the Garmin Golf Membership features and the Approach S50. 

    In Settings > System > About > Confirm what the status for "Garmin Golf Membership" is showing....as it should show "Active" directly on the watch. 

    Starting the round directly on the watch while the Garmin Golf app is open and showing Profile > My Devices > Approach S50 "Connected" > Select a nearby course displayed on the watch that you have confirmed has green contours > Once you have selected a tee box on the watch, the downloading green contours prompt should appear and your watch should then refresh for you to then select the tee box and scoring prompts once again. 

    Your iPhone should have location services allowed for the Garmin Golf app as "Always" with precise location also enabled in the app settings of your iOS settings app. 

    The region for the Garmin Golf app should also be set properly for the country you are currently located in as well. 

     The answers to the second part of your post would need to be directed towards the Garmin Support office in your region as they will have specific answers to those questions.

    I've checked my watch and confirm that the membership is active and will be expiring on July 25. 

    I've gone to Garmin.com and checked my region on my account and it is set to my current location. 

    My iPhone region setting is also set to my location. 

    Golf App (and Garmin Connect) iOS location services is always on, as well as precise location. 

    I start the round, select tees, premium map download prompt begins, and it never completes. Either I wait indefinitely for the prompt to download, or I click the green checkmark and nothing happens, leaving me with the generic course map.

    Do you have any other suggestions?

  • Exact same problem, it says "premium golf maps download in progress keep your device near your phone until complete" but nothing happens. 

    Can Garmin please solve this issue? 

  • same problem. followed cody's instruction and it didn't work. The watch never finish download and it just turn into basic map.

  • My S50 works most of the time. When it doesn’t update is just frustrating. Trying to fix this on the first Tee is not the best start. My question is, how do you know if a course is mapped in the first place. I’ve gone through the downloading only to find the greens are blank. Should be better for the cost, to be far my S60 did do a good job without the cost and hassle.

    Today I played golf and full premium maps were working.

    I don't know when the update occurred but I played Sat with nothing and then today was happy to see the download happen and details for each hole.
