How do I access the swing tempo feature on the Garmin Approach s50? Thanks.
Initial response edited: February 27th, 2025:
Other Garmin Golf devices that offer the Tempo Training activity application have the option available through the steps outlined below:
Tap the Action-Key located on the upper right side of the watch to open the "Play Golf" menu from the time screen > Then tap the four multi-colored circles located right below the "Play Golf" graphic > Then scroll down and select the "Edit" option > Tap "Add" > You will then see different categories showing for activity options that drop down, tap on the "Apps" dropdown option and you will see the "Swing Tempo option to add to your activity list.
*Note: The Approach S50 upon release is not advertised as offering the Tempo Training activity app on the device is not designed to offer the Tempo Training app...at this time.
I have submitted an inquiry on our end to see if this option can get added to the Approach S50, and other users that would like this option, please express interest on this thread and I will add your Garmin account to the ticket for this request.
Thanks, Garmin-Cody. I've followed the steps and there doesn't seem to be a "Swing Tempo" option to add on the activity list... Could you help with this? Thanks.
My apologies, I was mistaken in my initial response on your post here in regards to adding Tempo Training.
I have submitted an inquiry through our quality & engineering regarding the Tempo Training activity application not being offered on the Approach S50 on our end.
I will be in-touch as as any additional information becomes available.
- Thank you
Hi, just to ask if there was any news on this? I checked on the Product page, and it states that the Tempo Training is offered out of the box on the watch.
"Swing Tempo" is available as a golf feature during live rounds when using the Golf activity app on the Approach S50. Swing Tempo can be viewed within the Golf app while playing, through the round menu by selecting the Last Shot/Measure Shot and then selecting a shot from the list.
The "Tempo Training" app is separate from the Swing Tempo feature, as it is a separate activity app offered on certain Garmin watches for practice mode when hitting balls at a driving range, or at home hitting balls into a screen. The Tempo Training app is not available on the Approach S50, and is not an advertised feature for the Approach S50.
Garmin watches compatible with the Tempo Training activity can be searched entering the product name in the box on the support page linked here: Tempo Training Activity for My Garmin Golf Capable Watch to check if your Garmin product is compatible.
