To continue my post about first outing after 6.18.

9 holes walking with phone in bag, never out of bluetooth range.  I mention bluetooth because in the past I suspected that losing bluetooth connection stops data transfer and interrupts shot maps.

Shot detecction and shot maps worked fine.  One extraneous shot detected between tee and second shot.  Extraneous shots were occasionally detected with my older S20 and are not concerning to me.  Shot map displayed distances appear to accurate.

I hopefully will be playing 18 tomorrow riding.  I leave my phone in the bag, so there will be times when bluetooth connection is lost.  Also, the course is fairly remote and hilly, there will likely be times when cell service is lost.

    Update:

    Yesterday, 18 holes riding, out of bluetooth range with my phone several times.

    All shots recorded, all shot maps displayed in Garmin Golf.  The watch was not shut off between the 9 holes 2 days prior and this round.  One extraneous shot recorded.  It appears the recording of an extraneous shot occurred while getting a club out of the bag prior to teeing off.  Not a problem for me.  I do not use the CT type sensors.

    I have one more 'test' to perform.  I have hearing aids that bluetooth to my phone.  In the past I have thought that the watch and hearing aids were in competition for the phone connection, and caused the watch to record data that resulted in the blue triangle.  I have not been wearing the hearing aids whie golfing for quite some time trying to obtain issue free watch functionallity.  The next round out will be a test with the hearing aids connected to phone with bluetooth.

    At this point though. I am giving the watch a thumbs up.  I think the shot detection/shot maps issue has been solved.

    Final Input for S44 Function Post 6.18 Operating System Software Update:

    I have now played several rounds of 9 and 18 holes.  Riding and walking.  Some always within bluetooth and some in and out of bluetooth range.  At least one round with poor or at times no Cell Service during the round.  Some with hearing aids bluetooth connected to phone, and some without.

    I have not had a single issue with the S44 in terms of data recording since the 6.18 operating system. 

    I do not use every function of the S44, but for me at least, the watch is a 100% two thumbs up since the 6.18 update.
