set up heart rate

I have just purchased an S42.  It does not record my heart like my old one did.  Is there a setting i need to change to make it work?

    By design, the Approach S42 does not provide heart rate...nor did the Approach S40 as the predecessor. The S40 and S42 do not feature an optical heart rate sensor built into backplate like other specific Approach golf watches offer.
