My watch disconnects from phone when I leave golf cart

My Garmin s42 disconnects phone phone when I walk away from golf cart and phone. It vibrates and says disconnected from phone.

    Did anyone respond to this question - since the upgraded app a couple of weeks ago my S62 has started disconnecting when I move to a green and leave my bag on the next tee. It has never done it before...

    When outdoors golfing, Bluetooth signal is not as strong as it is indoors due to there being a lack of enclosed walls for the signal to rebound off of. 

    The connection between the watch and you smartphone will only stay connected for about 15-20 feet before losing the connection outside when golfing. This is why you are seeing the watch disconnect when you walk away from your smartphone that was left in the golf cart.

    Once the Bluetooth connection is lost after you have walked away 15-20 ft or so away, the watch has setting for smartphone connection alerts within Settings that enables the watch to display an alert when you watch and smartphone have disconnected from Bluetooth.     Thanks, I understand that but it has only started happening since the recent app update, it’s never happened before and I wonder why.,,,
