S2 looses satellite connection after about 14 holes.

I have had an issues for the last year and a bit.  Tried updating the watch and the battery is good.  The satellite connection usually last about 14 holes then I loose satellite for the remainder of the game.

Recharge for the next round and the same thing happens?

  • This can be resolved by following the steps outlined on the Garmin Support page linked here: Update Golf Courses and Device Software on an Approach Golf Device

  • Hello
I have same problem on my Approach S2

Updating golf Courses and device software does not  resolve the issue. I regularly do it

In order to make the device work, I have to power off it and power on again, loosing all current course playing  data

It always happens at 14th or 15th hole.

    Battery is new, recently substituted.

  • There are also other solutions through support.garmin.com for this concern, which also involves performing a factory reset on the device through the steps outlined on the support page linked Here

  • Sorry, but  I tried a factory reset as suggested by support above. Also, tried to load only European courses in order to consume as less memory as possible. After 14th or 15th hole about, the device loose satellite connection.
It seems to be a software bug externally acquired during every new use of device.

  • The Settings > About section of your watch contains a section at the very bottom of the menu labeled "Current EPO info: CPE: and a status showing in the section. The CPE should be showing a status of "Current" in order for the watch to properly acquire satellites. If the Current EPO info: CPE is showing "Missing" or " Expired" then the watch should be synced to the Garmin Golf app to allow the satellite prediction data to be updated accurately to the watch.

If you continue to have concerns, I recommend contacting Garmin Support to discuss the concern with a Golf Specialist, to determine further solutions for the issue.

  • Cannot find suggested EPO status in "about" section...  First screen in About section contains:  SW rel. 2.60 and Unit ID #. Second screen reports "None" word only in the middle. Third screen contains CourseView with installed courses and 25.1 number. Fourth screen contains "None" word only in the upper zone of the screen. Fifth screen: "Powered by SiRFInstantFixII". Sixth screen: "2009 SiRF Technology, Inc."

Please note I'm talking about Approach S2 device

Already contacted Garmin Support here in Italy: they say watch is not under support or warranty anymore (obviously, 2009 device).

It's a shame: untill it doesn't lose the connection, it works perfectly

    Thank you for your support
