my Approach s12 will not unlock maps

If you are seeing an alert on the display of your Approach S12 showing "Can't Unlock Maps" or "Maps Missing" tap the Back button on the lower right side of the watch twice to skip past the alerts. 

Then connect your watch to a home computer, and follow the steps outlined on the Garmin Support page linked below to update or reinstall your course mapping via Garmin Express:
