SpeedStick compatability

I appreciate that this is not likely something that many people are interested in, but I'm wanting to increase my swing speed and therefore looking to purchase some SuperSpeed speed training sticks (or equivalent), but in reality they are not really useful unless you have a device that can register the speed you are swinging at, and those are as much, if not more, than the sticks themselves, so ends up being quite costly.

As an R50 owner, which obviously picks up club speed at impact, then I was just wondering if there was an ability, or an interest from Garmin, to adapt the R50 to integrate with an existing product such as that mentioned, or even potentially release their own sensor/product which would allow the unit to record speed without the need for a ball ?

  • The last update for the R10 apparently added a feature to integrate to The Stack System. Not sure how the integration works or if it requires a ball to be hit. Maybe they kept it to the R10 because you need radar rather than optical. Would also love to see club speed without hitting a ball come to the R50.
