Have Garmin considered creating a section within the R50 software which would allow you to do a wedge/iron matrix for say differing shot types, such as 'Full' '9-3 swing', '10 to 2' swing, etc ? Again as I mentioned in another post, this part of the game is massive if you want to improve you game, ie understanding numbers for different swing lengths, both 'carry' & 'total'.
Currently for example I have a practice session during which I hit nothing but full shots, which I then remove mis-hits from. I go through all my irons, and then save the session. I then do the same using a 10-2 swing, and then again using a 9-3 swing. Once complete, I then drop the average 'carry' & 'total' distances into an excel sheet I created which automatically updates my averages, as generally as you get better at golf these obviously increase due to swing mechanics. I then have a summary screen set up which I print out and laminate which I take to the course. If for example I have 100 yard shot in to a green I can refer to the table and see I can either hit a full 56 wedge which will carry 99 yards on average, or a 10-2 PW which is 100 yards, or even a 9-3 9 iron which goes 101. Obviously run out is different on each club but its useful dependent upon when the pin is placed, etc.
I'm happy doing this excel sheet, but just seems that Garmin has all this information on its system, so why not offer something that collates it ? I know Skytrak+ offer something very similar, although not sure whether it updates over each session.
Loving the R50 by the way, its a fantastic piece of kit and so glad I purchased it.
