Hi, is a controller box compatible with HTH? Would be nice to not bend over to adjust aim, etc.

Garmin does not have a specific accessory or settings specific option to control the R50 outside of the touchscreen and button inputs on the actual device hardware.
Bluetooth connections are specific to speaker accessory connections for audio.
Is the Bluetooth functionality of speaker use restricted due to the Garmin software? Or the Bluetooth hardware?
The Bluetooth option in the Settings menu on the R50 is designed to search and connect only to nearby Bluetooth audio devices.
In the manual for the Approach R50, our descriptions of the options listed in the Settings menu cite the Bluetooth section as "Connect to a compatible speaker using Bluetooth® technology so you can hear in-game sounds during a virtual round of golf."
Other types of Bluetooth connections outside of Bluetooth audio devices should either not show nearby as available...or if for some reason a non-audio device is showing available and it's not a Bluetooth speaker, or headphones...attempting to connect would result in the device only showing listed as connected without any additional functionality of use with the device.
So this sounds like it's a software issue rather than a hardware issue? If Garmin choose to upgrade the software to unlock this functionality, it would allow further controller box to functioning once it's paired via Bluetooth correct?
Is there anticipated updates and new controller products in the future? I’m guessing most owners would agree that bending over so many times is a bit taxing after a while.
The Bluetooth connection offered in the menu is for audio connection to a speaker. This is outlined in the manual.
