I was wondering is there a feature request to add face impact location and mapping to the Garmin R50? I dont even know if it is possible with an optical monitor or not.

If face impact location could be added, that would make the R50 the best value for money in the launchmonitor business by FAR.
GC quad does this and I think it can because it has 4 cameras. GC3 and this only have three cameras. Not sure if a fourth camera would be needed tho.
I massively upvote this, and I think it would be a fantastic sales point, after all, a Mevo+ can be upgraded to do this at a cheaper all-in price—certainly a way to take on foresight.

That would definitely be a valuable addition.

Absolutely would love to see this!
I agree this would be great. I find the existing video playback has almost no utility.
Can we please have an indication from Garmin if this is likely to be considered...
I am realising it is crucial to improve as a golfer to get consistent strikes on the clubface. So for me, this feature is vital.
you would think if the R50 can detect the club sticker and see the ball it should at least be possible to determine were the ball hit the surface in vertical direction relative to clu sticker. For the horizontal position this may be more difficult. Look at the impact video. vertical position can be seen. Horizontal more difficut. I sometimes put a white line on the surface to see if the ball is left or right of it. And of course there are impact stickers or foot spray that you can use to see impact position. But I agree would be nice if the r50 can show it. I would highly appreciate that
Perhaps like competitors more stickers will be needed to get triangulation. Just keeping my fingers crossed..
Yes. The R50 has so much potential. This would definitely be a game change for both function and value!
