Software version 4.10 and GLM 3.9.0 is now available to 100% of Approach R50 users.
Keep an eye out for the update showing available to install.

The Approach R50 is not on a set update schedule so it will vary based on many factors that result in one update becoming available potentially faster, and other updates becoming available on a longer timeframe. This is true also for our other Approach golf devices in our current lineup, and for our older Approach devices that are also still supported by Garmin.
We do not announce any updates until they are being rolled out to our users to install. Keep an eye out for the pop-up on your R50 when our next SW release is synced over, and keep in mind it may have seemed higher frequency in updates in past months as there are two software profiles on the Approach one for Approach R50 system software and the other for GLM software...both prompting install in the same manner to update.
Our team will post the changelog and version number as soon as we start rolling out another version which could be offered sooner than later based on our Quality & Engineering teams best judgement.
(I realize my answer may not be the level of detail you were hoping for) Software update releases are first on an as-needed basis with prioritization of an resolving an issue/set of issues that need fixed...the readiness of any new software we are working on making available from our testing to ensure the quality of the software...various reasons specific to our internal processes....and of course any potential feature requests we decided to incorporate from all the awesome user-feedback we get from you all contributing on Garmin Forums
