Target Alignment

I want make sure I am understanding setting of target alignment. If I set two balls on the mat that are lined up straight at my target - but the unit does not show these as being zero but rather some degrees left of right, and I save that as MY target alignment, is the way my balls were aligned the new "zero" for how the R50 reads the ball flight?

OR do I need to move the unit back and forth until is shows zero?

  • I have the same question. Should the R50 unit be adjusted physically until it reads 0.0 or should one always leave it so that the front of unit remains parallel to the screen or overall range/target area?

Alternatively, one could be hitting in an offset position on an angle to the target line. lay down two balls and have it read positive degrees left or right, and then adjust the unit so that it matches the angle of the two balls and reads 0.0, I get more realistic numbers.

I think there are variations of this question on the right approach (NPI) for the practice driving range(s), HTH, and other third-party game software. I am still looking for a comprehensive and plainly understandable guide to the correct method(s).
