'Club Stats' not displaying on R50 or the cell phone app

After a round at the driving range on my R50, I was curious to see my performance per club. When I look at 'my bag', and or 'club stats', within the garmin golf app, it does not seem to have any of the stats for my clubs. The AVG and MAX are just blank - . Is there a particular amount of swings the data is looking for or is just not recording/saving my data?

  • This is by-design as simulated practice sessions do not affect the club list in the "My Bag" menu, as those only get averaged from actual rounds at a course using a GPS Garmin Golf device with the AutoShot feature.

During a live Practice session on the R50, you can get your averages during the session for each club as each shot is recorded. After saving the session, the simulated metrics are referenceable within the saved session, but do not accumulate towards actual club stats.

  • Thanks for the quick reply.

Isn't this a little counterintuitive, as I'd like to know my overall average prior to going to the course. Adding the extra step of me exporting my data out to then review/maintain/track it is a bit cumbersome when the Garmin R50 should have this capability. I'm using it to help understand my yardage for course use. Not the other way around. Will / can this become a future software release as I believe many people would benefit from understanding their practice yardage, whether it be with a new set of clubs or just overall off season practice prior to hitting the course.

  • The Average & Max distances attributed to the club list are related to features accumulated from other Garmin Golf devices, and are based on actual scorecards and real GPS distances recorded from shots tracked on devices that support the AutoShot feature.

The Approach R50 GLM software is specific to the software on-screen for the unit, which does apply shot distance recommendations during virtual rounds, but is not applied outside of the software directly on the unit.

At this time, practice sessions will display your distances for each club and your averages during the session for each club type during the session. This info from the R50 can be referenced and used from within the session, but the distances are not applied to the "My Bag" list which displays actual club distance max and averages recorded from other Garmin Golf product features.

The Garmin Golf app accommodates features for many other Garmin Golf products apart from the R50, so not all features displayed within the Golf app will apply to the R50.

If anything changes regarding simulated distances and the My Bag club list, I will be sure to update users here in forums as any new features potentially become available.

  • I agree completely. Bushnell has their data loaded into their rangefinder on the new model. I don't know why the r50 data that's already there can't populate the club data in the app.
