Is there a swing capture option like with the R10?

Basically as per the title - is there a way to pair a phone so that you can capture swings during a driving range session?

This would be immensely useful but seems the feature isn't in there currently. Given this is a more 'premium' launch monitor, I would have hoped a feature like this would be included Sweat smile

  • Other than the replay of the ball at impact, there is not a camera point of view for the shot to be captured. R10 being radar based emphasizing more broad picture of the shot and ball flight, swing capture with the R10 allows a more info in the limited space where the shot took place.

Approach R50 being photo capture providing full club metrics and a great amount of detail right in the small space where the swing and ball flight occurred...options like swing capture video is not as emphasized due to the high detail right where the action > ball reaction is occurring.

Since the Approach R50 is not Garmin Golf App oriented, there is no external phone based camera operation integrated into the features on the Approach R50.

Similar to how the Approach R10 swing capture option, you can setup your phone behind you mounted to the golf bag, stand, or other surface for the point of reference you want recorded for the shot. There are apps out there that can use the smartphone camera based on movement/timer presets...with some apps also being specifically developed to record golf swings from a full point of view.

If any announcements become available for swing capture on the Approach R50, I will be sure to update users here in forums if anything new becomes available!
