Unclear how to get R50 to work with both Driver and Irons

the colour of the tee makes a difference, I had coloured rubber tees and that wouldnt work, changed to black rubber tees and no problem

If your using coloured tees this will stop it seeing the ball, change to black rubber tees and you shouldn't have a problem

I just used a black sharpie on my white rubber tee.  Worked after that.  However, in HTH, if you are wearing a white glove the R50 sometimes interprets placing the ball on the mat or tee and then moving your hand away as a ball strike and adds a stroke.  You need to be fast on the “mulligan” button to avoid.

I've found that it's necessary to remove the tee entirely after a driver swing (pull it out from under the mat, etc.). I couldn't find anyway around this and it makes sense when you think of the optics employed by the R50. I now use tees that stick into the mat (short, 2 1/8 tees) and that eliminates the problem as they usually are swiped away with each swing anyway.  

I haven’t had an issue yet with a tee getting in the way of seeing the ball.

Time for me to do some more testing. I have white, yellow, black, purple and pink tees from different mfgr’s.

I'm really starting to think the lighting with the infrared from the cameras are causing issues with picking up the ball on a tee. There have been others on forums with this issue.
