Is distance issue still not fixed?

Just got my R50, I am a 5hcp and play a lot of golf.  My numbers are 10-30 yards too short with the unit compared to real life (pw going 115 when easily 135-145 on course, solid drives going 250 vs 275-290).  Has garmin still not come up with an answer or solution to this?  I have gone through all the tips etc so Garmin Mod please do not post the typical check list.  If this is not resolved, will need to return the unit.

  • Any updates here?  I'm working with the Garmin support team to try and troubleshoot the problem, but I fear it's not accurate...
I also have an R10, and have them set up (under perfect conditions) to compare the 2 metrics.  The R50 is consistently ~25-30% shorter on most every shot - low irons to driver.  I carry a 7 iron 165-170.  Every time - I'm like TinCup, I never miss with the 7 ;).  While the R10 reports back realistic numbers, the R50 says 125 carry and 138 total - on a shot that's flushed.
I don't want to use the R10 as my indoor sim launch monitor because there is no sidespin tracking.  But, I'm not interested in keeping a $5K device that (when I nutted a drive) says total distance is 247 (when the R10 says 308)...  What's the latest on carry/distance accuracy?  Has anyone here found any solutions?  Thx (frustrated).

  • only looking at distance difference is not giving an idea what the problem could be. If you compare ball  launch speed between R10 an R50 do you see a significant difference?  I
