I have owned the R50 for a month now, and really like it, but it could be a lot better with some, pretty basic, improvements
Bugs:
When loading into any driving range with an external screen connected, for me at least, the range gets stuck on a head down view of the range, so I can't see ball flights. The only way to get it off this head down view is to mirror then stop mirroring the external screen.
Occasionally you can hit shots in the driving range and it won't show the shot tracer at all, and just show the numbers, so you have to leave the session and start a new one.
Spin doesn't read properly with yellow golf balls (i think?), range balls don't read anywhere near the correct spin with wedges
Occasionally when hitting far off the toe with driver, the ball slices way right, which is weird when it feels like a duck-hook shot, I presume this comes from incorrectly reading the spin axis.
Face angle seems calculated based off launch direction, so hitting drivers, face angle sometimes feels strange when not hit out the center, (like showing a wide open face angle when hit off the toe, even if the ball ends up curving back, which wouldn't happen if the face was 10 degrees open)
Gripes / Suggestions:
When playing a course, you can't click mulligan or see a replay of a shot if you don't press the button while the small screen is up for 5 seconds after the shot has been hit. This is incredibly annoying as sometimes it will track white socks / shoes as a shot, and if you don't notice immediately, you can't undo it.
The color of the shot tracers in the driving range are all the same, or at least quite similar, making it hard sometimes to tell which shot was your most recent one.
You can't move the "aim point" on the external display, so if you have a projector setup into a screen, and your hitting bay isn't in the center, you can't move it to the side like you can on say trackman or foresight.
The auto putting is a bit scuffed in Home Tee Hero, as you'd rather miss the green than hit the green, but outside the circle, since then you still get a chance to get up & down, whereas hitting the green is an auto 3 putt. Let us turn off 3 putting all together.
Greens are insanely firm in general, and there's nothing we can do about it, it's comical how impossible it is to stop balls on greens, which also makes everything play shorter than it should. Just let us customise it please :D
We can't delete courses we've downloaded, or search for courses specifically in our downloads list, seems strange.
We should be able to move where we are hitting from in the target ranges, to allow us to hit to pins at any distance, not just the predetermined ones. Please let me know if there is an option for this already.
Obviously wedge ladders & target games would be great, but it's not exactly a small suggestion, but thought I would mention it.
Please let me know if i've made a mistake with any of this, but these are just some quick thoughts i thought i'd type out
