Will the usb-c on the r50 supply power for a wireless hdmi adapter?
Will the usb-c on the r50 supply power for a wireless hdmi adapter?
The HDMI source port must be used to via corded connection. The USB-C port is designed to mount the R50 as a device drive to a computer for updates using Garmin Express as an alternate update method.
If you are using a wireless HDMI adapter, and if you find that adapter works for display extension or mirroring...an external power source for the USB-C should be used to test if the adapter will allow the use you are attempting for the HDMI connection.
How did the wireless HDMI work out? I plan to use one as well but I was concerned with latency. The hdmi wireless system I was considering is about $150. I look forward to your response!
I bought a wireless HDMI set (transmitter and receiver) on Amazon for $60. They need to be powered other than through the HDMI port.....my projector has a separate powered USB-C port for the receiver, but for the transmitter I had to plug in to an electrical circuit for power. Almost zero latency......
Thanks for the response!!! Hopefully I can have the same success in my end.
I probably bought the same wireless hdmi setup as above and with the same results. Thought about getting a battery pack/ power supply to make it more “wireless” but haven’t done so yet.
