New Feature Request: Home Tee Hero Resume a Round

I don't have the link to the new feature request portal--so I'm posting here. (Please provide the link.) Please consider adding the functionality to save a scorecard, and then to resume the round later. At present, you must devote enough time for an 18-hole round or the entire game is ruined when you can't complete the entire 18-holes.

  • I'll second this request. My R50 comes in a week and I thought this was already possible. I have a 4 month old child so I regularly get interrupted in whatever I am doing. Being able to pause and resume rounds is a must.

  • You can walk away from the unit and resume/save/discard if the display or power save mode times out the next time the display is prompted back on...however, manual operation of resume /Save/Discard function is not offered on the R50 at this time.

Saving will result in a partial virtual round being saved and the round cannot be resumed after that point.

If any new features similar to this request become available I will post here in forums and any of those interested in the feature should also post here for any discussion in relation to any options for saving and resuming later manually.

  • I can tell you from experience that club metrics are recorded during Home Tee Hero rounds. The only catch (and somewhat of a hassle) is that you must have the metallic stickers on the club. And, you have to act fast to reach down and hit the "Metrics" button after the shot as the R50 only gives you about 10-seconds to see the shot metrics. FWIW, Trackman functions the same way--although you can configure the pause time between shots and also view the "previous shot" from the menu.

    Hope that helps!

  • But does it keep the metrics and add them to your garmin club data? So if I play a round on HTH and go to my club data in the garmin golf app, it will show the average distances of the clubs? I would like to track the average distances and accuracy/offline of my clubs during simulated rounds the same way garmin ct10 or arccos does for real rounds.

  • No, the R50 does not persist the club or shot data from the simulated rounds. It doesn't persist any data beyond the round "scorecard". I know, disappointing considering the unit's price. I'm counting on Garmin to add these basic features soon in a software update.

  • Ah that is very disappointing. It is all garmin products, it should be expected that everything works flawlessly together. It would be great if my garmin watch could be able to sync with HTH and give me distances while playing a simulated round too, simply by connecting your phone with both the watch and the R50. The fact they can't do any of these features makes me think the software teams that work on different features have no interaction with other groups.
