Are club metrics recorded in Garmin Golf during Home Tee Hero simulated rounds? During range sessions?

Also, in Home Tee Hero, does it integrate with your Garmin Golf club/bag setup to know what clubs you have in the bag and recommend you the correct club?

I would love to be able to use the R50, play a number of rounds on HTH and have the Garmin Golf app have data on my average distance and dispersion with each club. And then in HTH rounds in the future, give me a recommendation of which club to use. I've had Arccos for years, and I imagine the Garmin CT10 is similar, so something like the caddie feature would be great. You could also see what clubs you need to work on and do targeted training on those that are lacking. Integrating some sort of AI coach like Garmin has for running and cycling.

Plus when you then get out on the actual course, you will have a ton of simulated data to work with and should know all your distances.

  • When using Home Tee Hero, the shot data recorded from the Approach R50 is temporarily displayed after the shot with the "Mulligan"..."Metrics" ..."Continue" pop up that appears on a timer. If you let the prompt time out, or continue...the metrics from the shot is no longer referenceable and is not saved to the scorecard in Home Tee Hero mode. Club data will be provided for clubs with stickers attached for shots but not for putting.

When using Practice Mode, the metrics are recorded for each shot, and is referenceable after the session is saved both on the Approach R50 and in the Garmin Golf app. Club metrics are provided if a sticker is attached. Putting is not available in Practice Mode.

Club suggestions are only available through the "Virtual Caddie" feature offered on compatible Garmin golf products that use GPS during actual rounds of golf with the actual GPS distance recorded on scorecards for each shot with the club used assigned to the shot.

  • Thank you for your response Cody. But it didn't really answer my core question. Let me rephrase it for clarification.

Let's say I am a long time Garmin golf user with a Garmin Golf watch and CT10 sensors. When I open the Garmin Golf app, or Garmin Connect website I can view my scorecard, performance stats, and club metrics (average and max distances). I would like to see all of these to be able to be populated with data from playing simulated rounds on Home Tee Hero, not just rounds on an actual course.

Now it is true that simulated golf is not the same, so perhaps they could be separated by a tab. Or perhaps there could be a toggle to include or remove simulated rounds from your metrics. Either way, the ability to see your performance metrics after rounds outside of Home Tee Hero is my main request.

Similarly, once you have club data in Garmin Golf Home Tee Hero should be able to either work with the Virtual Caddie or have it built into the software. It should know that if you are 155 yards from the pin what club of yours will carry that distance.

Home Tee Hero is a Garmin product and therefore should be able to integrate smoothly into the Garmin ecosystem. So not only should all of what I said be possible, but you should also be able to sync the Garmin Golf app on your phone with a Home Tee Hero round. So I can use my watch exactly like I would in a real round while playing a simulated round on Home Tee Hero.

I know a lot, if not all, of these features are not available today. But please think of them as feature requests to forward to some Product Manager or Engineering Lead who might make use of them.

  • I have this same question and would love an actual answer from Garmin.

Additionally, I want to know why my Home Tee Hero rounds played on the R50 do not affect my stats in the Garmin Golf App. I don't have any performance, course nor club stats in the Garmin Gold app. However, on the activity screen I can see my practice and HTH rounds from the R50.

I think what we are asking for is a way to see both Indoor and Outdoor stats in one place. I would buy the CT10 trackers in a heart beat if it allowed me to see both indoor and outdoor stats in one place.

This question is over a month old and no response. It would be great to get a detailed response from Garmin that addressed our questions. Thank you.

  • I am a long time Garmin golf user with a Garmin Golf watch and CT10 sensors and I would hate if data from the sim was mixed with real course data. Mostly because the R50 is 15% wrong on the short side for distances. Sure let Garmin make recording sim data as an option but don't mix it together with real corse data, keep then seperate.

  • This is short sighted. It’s not that you don’t want it there but you want to be able to filter it. Of course I want to look at them separately too. Doesn’t mean the data should just not be there.

indoor golf is becoming its own thing. Golfers will want to improve their indoor game separate from outdoor and vise versa while at the same time influencing the other. I won’t be the first golfer to want this.

Please don’t argue against features that others are asking for. It’s counter productive.

  • This information is not available in the manner you are requesting for shot data from simulated rounds, and we do not have any further announcements regarding this option becoming available at this time.

There are also no announcements at this time regarding incorporating "Virtual- Virtual Caddie" features based on simulated information, as the shot information is not recorded to the virtual scorecard that can be saved when using Home Tee Hero  per the current design.

If anything related to club stats or distances averages becoming available from virtual rounds, I will update this post advising users at that time.
