The tracking mode prior to starting a session on the Approach R50 can be adjusted to set the tracking mode to "Ball Data Only" or "Ball & Club Data".
To receive club data, apply the provided stickers as instructed in the quick start guide that comes included in-box with the R50.

Thanks for the quick replies! I have another question and I couldn't find any information about it in the documentation. What are the dimensions of the ball detection/hitting zone? I see in the manual that there is mention that the size of the zone is dependent on whether or not club data is enabled but no actual dimensions are specified.

The size of the zone is not specified, as the shot location is confirmed as correct by the light bar indicator at the bottom of the device.
The spacing requirements for the hitting mat being used is defined in the article above, along with the recommendations of the spacing from the shot location to the R50.
