Hi all,
I’m Cas, a golfer from the Netherlands. I work as a software developer, and like many of you I spend a fair amount of time trying to make sense of launch monitor data from simulator sessions.
Over the past year I’ve been building a small personal project to help me interpret that data in a more practical way. I previously shared an early version here, and since then I’ve continued developing it mainly for my own training. I’d like to hear how others approach this, and whether my way of analysing the data aligns with how you use yours.
What I’ve been experimenting with
• Pattern-based analysis
Looking for recurring ball-flight and swing patterns (for example fade/slice or hook tendencies, attack angle and spin relationships, face-to-path influence on curvature), rather than reviewing single shots in isolation.
• Club-specific views
Separating analysis by club to look at dispersion, consistency, and trends over time.
• Comparing sessions or clubs
Basic comparisons to see how changes in setup, clubs, or sessions show up in the data.
• Shot history handling
Keeping full shot history with simple CSV imports, basic outlier detection, and backups.
The data I’ve been using comes from Garmin R10 / R50 exports, Flightscope (Mevo / X3C), and Awesome Golf.
If anyone is interested, the project lives at https://www.upyourclub.com.
I’d really like to learn:
-
How you personally analyse your Garmin launch monitor data
-
Which numbers you trust most (or least)
-
What kind of insights actually help your practice
- What you miss
Happy to discuss and learn from others’ approaches.
Thanks,
Cas
