Home Tee Hero Update

Will the updated graphics of Home Tee Hero on the Approach R50 also come to the Garmin Golf App and the Approach R10 in the future?

  • At this time, there are no announcements regarding any changes in Home Tee Hero graphics through the Garmin Golf app with the Approach R10.

  • Why would you not offer this? You are throwing away monthly prescriptions. I am almost done with Garmin Products.

  • I agree and I'm at the same point. There have been no updates since 4.30 and I'm almost at the point of selling my R10 and have cancelled my subscription. If HTH was upgraded to R50 graphics I would keep it and resubscribe right away. It would also maintain sales for the R10 which now has strong competition from other affordable LMs like the Square and MLM2 Pro.

  • Exactly!. The square is looking pretty good so far. The updated HTH would be one of the best programs out there if they would just allow there R10 users to subscribe to it. They would make more money off R10 subscriptions then they would off a $6k unit. The Product Management team needs to give there heads a shake on this one.

  • All of the software and graphics featured on the Approach R50 are specific to this new product, as the R50 is a standalone launch monitor/simulator, and the unit does not connect or operate with the Garmin Golf application.

This new product was just announced this morning...so at the moment there are not any announcements regarding pre-existing Approach products receiving any of the features that are exclusive to the R50 at this time.

If any updates regarding the existing features specific to the Approach R10 become available, users will be notified as they become available.

  • Thanks for your reply. It would certainly be great if you could consider a HTH update for R10 users if it's possible in due course. Any updates on this as it develops would be appreciated.

  • I just want landscape mode to be usable Disappointed

  • I was thinking the same. The HTH graphics are usable on a phone when at the range, for example. But with the updated graphics it would be a full simulator for use with a projector. Especially with the costs of the monthly subscriptions being the same with the R10 as with the R50.

As for the R50 not using the Garmin Golf app - I highly doubt that the R50 version was developed completely new and if so, why would it need the subscription?

Anyway, we can always hope and if not, there are other devices out there with better graphics... ;-)

  • that's ridiculous. Why would you not offer this to R10 users? I canceled my hometown hero subscription because it looks like a Nintendo video game from 1993.. Bad mood by Garmin. I guess I will give my subscription money to E6 Connect. At least l then I'll feel like I'm playing a real golf course

  • E6 is good.

GSPro cheaper and better if You ask me.
