R10 Approach only connects SOMETIMES to PC

I have the R10 monitor, using the garmin app on android, connecting to PC with the E6 software.

I have successfully been able to connect to my PC (WITH MUCH FRUSTRATION) I have the IP4 address correct, ports forwarded, network set to visible, have firewall disabled etc & the app CONSTANTLY says failed to connect.

I can get it to connect to the PC by manually reseting my router and assigning a new IP address to my laptop and setting the garmin to that IP address, but when I leave my laptop for a day or two it stops connecting, the IP hasnt changed, the port hasnt changed but for some reason it will never connect. It will only work if I AGAIN reset my router and assign a new IP address.

I am confirming it hasnt changed using cmd ipconfig/all

Im starting to thing this is an app issue and not one with my router or IP

Please help

  • Setting your network profile to public will help resolve this error.

    1. Click on the Wi-Fi connection icon in the lower right corner of the System Tray of your computer.
    2. Click Properties under the connection status.
    3. Click Public under Network Profile.

After changing the network profile setting, open TruGolf E6 Connect from the Garmin Golf app to start playing.

If you are experiencing other connection issues, check the following:

    • The mobile device running the Garmin Golf app needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the computer running the E6 Connect software.
    • Be sure that you have the latest version of E6 Connect.
    • Disable your Virtual Private Network (VPN) if you are connected to one.
    • Check for firewalls or other custom configurations which could block the communication.
    • Disable any virtual machines running on the PC.

After following the steps above, ensure the Garmin Golf app is open with the R10 showing connected with the app, and leave Garmin Gol running in the background on the smartphone. If still having issues...contacting e6 Connect would be the next step to troubleshoot the issue further. The steps above are the extent of troubleshooting that is recommended from Garmin.
