Blue pairing light refuses to turn on

Hi,

So the blue pair light refuses to turn on after holding down the button while the device is off.

I have read that letting the battery run out completely may fix this, it has not.

I have also seen that you may need to unpair the device from the phone before you can pair a new one.
This is a problem as my the phone it is connected to is unusable so therefore I cannot unpair it from that phone.

There is also no apparent way to hard reset the device which i find completely mind-boggling but anywho

Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Device should be powered on > Then holding the button down will result in the blue light turning solid. If the blue light does not stay solid after holding the button down, then the R10 is currently paired to a device through bluetooth already while you are attempting to put the device into pairing mode.

Check any devices you may have paired the R10 to that are nearby. Open the Settings menu > Bluetooth/Connections > Check and see if the R10 is showing in the previously paired bluetooth list of devices > If showing paired, forget/unpair the R10 as a device from those menus, and then attempt once again to put the R10 into pairing mode.

  • Hi Cody,

I have attempted to enter pairing mode with the Manual way "Holding down when off" and the common sense way, "Holding it down when on"
As I said in my post. This is a problem as my the phone it is connected to is unusable so therefore I cannot unpair it from that phone

  • If the previous phone it was connected to is still in bluetooth pairing range, just make sure the phone is powered off. As long as the phone is was previously paired to is off, then it should not be an issue.

If you are not sure if the phone is on, forcing the phone off per the manufacture recommend soft reset, or forced power off steps for the phone, to ensure the smartphone is not powered on.

As long as the R10 is not actively paired, it will go into pairing mode. Make sure there are no other devices that may have been paired to the R10 around as well.

  • I am having the same issue, and I do not have any devices that it is paired to...

  • I can get it to blink blue, but it will not fully connect to the device. Please help.

  • Once the R10 is powered on, holding the button on the device until the blue light turns solid > Then release the button and select the Add Device from the Garmin Devices menu in the Garmin Golf app  > Select the Approach R10 >The Golf app will then prompt the option to connect it to complete the device setup loading screen.

Ensure the R10 is completely charged, and if the device is out of date connect to Garmin Express on a computer to check for updates.
