Approach R10 Driver distances... Still terrible unless you swing at 125 mph+. Alternate apps?

I have seen all the complaints about how bad the r10 is with driver stats. Interesting observation... I am broken and I am down to 90-95 mph swing speed. Driver distances for me are way off as compared to my ES14. Launch angle is usually out to lunch. Up to 40yrds short distance wise. However, my 2 elite golfer sons who have a fairway finder swing speed of 120 mph have their distances showing up pretty close to their trackman sessions with their coach.

Algorithm for figuring out carry distance must favor speed.

I have heard there is an alternate app that works with the R10... Awesome golf... Anyone use that instead for range work? Any better with driver stats?

Make sure you calibrate every time you turn it on.

What distance do You get, and what altitude setting do You have?

It set automatically on the r10. So at home it picks up exactly what it should be... 1414ft. When we play different courses I have checked and it adjusts to that courses altitude.

For me my es14 is set to an altitude of 1420ft and my drives range from 240-260yrds carry. R10 205yrds average. My kids on both devices 300-310yrd carry average.

Hi.

Reason why I asked is because You have approx the same swing speed as me (around 90 mph).

On a decent hit I have approx 200 yards carry, and unfortunately this is exactly the same as when playing on a real course.

If You ask me the R10 is correct and es14 is not, but I wish I could hit the driver 250 yds carry with 90-95 swing speed.

I think the es14 is a inflated too. I doubt both on swing speeds. Trackman at different shops shows me having closer to 100mph swing speed.

On the r10 my 3 wood carries nearly as far as my driver most of the time.

On course 3wd seems pretty close to what both the es14 and r20 report. Driver harder to tell for carry. I hit a lower shot... Often rolls out quite a bit. R10 launch angle seems very erratic even when I am hitting a pretty tight pattern in our net.

Yeah.

I'm not convinced that the R10 is good on driver and indoor net.

But on range I have found it very accurate, and also showing carry approx 200 yards on a chs of around 90 (smash factor around 1,42).

I have a ping 425 max at 10,5 deg which is probably not the best out there for distance, but I still love it

I also think that it is not uncommon to hit a 3w further than driver for many. My friend does it, and my 7w distance is approx 20 yds shorter than my driver in real life. So I haven't even bothered to get a 3w or 5w as there is no gap to fill. Smaller head gives the possibility to generate more speed, and higher launch more carry.

So in general what I see from the R10 unit on range is very similar to what I see on course. Hitting real balls into a net indoor has not been an option for me yet, but my impact screen is arriving on Tuesday. Should be interesting to see if I can make it work.
