Garmin-Rob, For the most part the data I'm getting back on my shots in my Driving Range sessions (outdoor at an actual driving range) are close enough (within double the accuracy allowances, ex: Club head speed accuracy: +/- 6 mph, Carry distance accuracy: +/- 10 yards), but I do seem to get bad data back (well outside of the Radar Accuracy allowances) on ~20% of my shots. I'm wondering if there is a way to manually calibrate my R10 for at least carry distance?
I full understand that carry distance is "Calculated by Algorithm" and that "Carry distance accuracy: +/- 5 yards", but (as an example) if I can hit a wedge shot that carries 100 yards and can pinpoint the initial landing spot at 100 yards, but the R10 and the session data only show the carry distance at 60 or 70 yards, then something seems off.
The best example I have of where this could be useful is the follow shot with my driver, shot #38 on my last session. My normal swing speed is 98mph to 103mph, and normally see and attack angle between 1 and 6 degrees. At the my local outdoor driving range, I'll normally see an average carry distance around 225 yards (slight fade on most). Nothing different in my setup or equipment, and the data I saw in the app was off on the last few shots I hit, where I can confirm clearing 220 yards in the air the session data read the carry distance on shot #34 = 219yds, #35 = 214yds, #36 = 210yds, #37 = 217yds, and then on shot #38 = 216 yards. The club speed on the shots were Shot #34 = 102mph, #35 = 99mph, #36 = 101mph, #37 = 102mph, and shot #38 = 132 MPH!!! I have attached screenshots from the app showing the data. Based on the data collected on shot #38, my carry distance should be at least 330 yards. JFYI, In no way do I believe that I summoned powers down from heaven to gain 30MPH on this one swing.
Again, fully understand that there can be misreads and interference, but on 5 back to back shots get shorted by at least 10 yards and then get the 132 mph swing speed jump and not gain any distance there has to be someway to make a correction.
