R10 but updating on a Mac

Anyone had problems trying to update the R10 firmware using a MacBook and Garmin Express? My Mac can update my Fenix 6 Pro watch fine, but I get an immediate error when trying to update the R10.

A really old Windows laptop I tried initially moaned about a Driver not being found and then that the drive (the R10 unit) was Read Only. So wondering if something needs installing on the MacBook to allow the Mac to write to the R10 drive.

I have used a 2017 MacBook Pro and a 2022 Mac Studio desktop to update the R10 with Garmin Express without issue. I didn't need to install any other software on the Macs. Does Garmin Express see your R10 as connected? Perhaps it's worth a call to Garmin technical support.

i bought a R10 yesterday, it will not connect Garmin Express to my Macbook. I have tried swapping cables, didn't help. So I have no idea what ver. I have or if I need an upgrade.

I think I will return it today.

I've been able to update mine without issue. Mac pro Intel 16 inch, 2019 with Monterey 12.6
