R10 attack angle accuracy

All,

How accurate in your experience is the R10 attack angle reading? Any advice for making it more accurate?

I'm learning how to hit down on the ball for a negative attack angle but unsure if I can trust the R10 readings?

  • When the unit works well, ithink it can be trusted to be fairly accurate, that means that i think it will be +-2 degree

Mine unit was very accurate on the measurement i was looking for and i did put it 6 feet1.8m behind and i could put the ball anywhere on the matt and it didnt missread much before i updated to 4.3, i dont belive 4.3 is a bad firmware, but i think that sometimes something goes wrong in the update. So im waiting for next firmware, it would have been so much easier if you just could reinstall the firmware but thats not possible

  • Have the same problem. AOA with 4.3  will be read badly. My Flightscope Xi+ reads are accurate. That device measured mostly positive values even with a 7i and launch angle of 13 degree.  I tested it to put the ball on a tee and my divot was half an inch after the ball it still showed a positive value. That is crap. The rest of the values like face-to-path and club path seemed  to be ok.

  • If you want something specifically for AoA , you will have to dent the bank. The Bushnell Pro is on the cheaper side but the GC Quad or Trackman is probably what you’re looking for if you want real consistency. Maybe someone else will have advice but I never was able to get good statistics from the R10 except for Height, Distance, and launch angle was sometimes pretty accurate.
