4.30 Update chipping and club read issues

The 4.3 update has been amazing with the RCT ball integration from about 8 iron and up. Anything shorter especially wedges you no longer get club data which is a big issue. Also the update has unfortunately ruined chipping... Ive done a lot of testing on this and the shorter you get the worse it gets. Below are some of the things I've been expecting and it makes virtual golf pretty much unplayable well without using about 20 Mulligan's a round :(. Before the update I could easily get through multiple rounds without having mis-reads. I really hope this gets addressed quickly as Sim golf is not really playable. 

1) ghost chips where I do a practice swing and the Garmin sends a shot out this also happens on full shots occasionally if you do a takeaway rehearsal before hitting the ball 

2) the unit freeze in the calculating screen for about 60 seconds and then send a 40 yard shot 

3) the unit completely freeze on the calculating screen and then I had to turn it off and on again 

4) shots that I know have carried 10-12 feet and they unit says 3 inches 

5) missed shots (shorter inside 50y)

Hopefully chipping can go back to how good it was before the update but keep the RCT as they are great for spin numbers

    Been grappling a bit with the chipping myself, but no sleep problems whatsoever after getting the leveling stand and upgrading firmware to 4.3. I read somewhere that sleep mode was oddly a symptom of poor leveling. Made sure I calibrated on a level surface.

    Finally a day without rain, and on the range today.

    60 shots without issue.

    Then I started a course on hth, and on hole 13 I made a chip.

    Unit froze (constant red light).

    I did not wait for 60 secs, but tried to turn unit off and on again.

    After which it started to flash green again, but when I tried to repeat the chip the unit went back to old habits going to sleep after the shot.

    Repeatedly after recycling the unit.

    Only thing that worked was to turn off bluetooth on the phone and turn it back on again. 

    There is still a bug here Garmin Rob, and it's related to chipping.

    Ok wow that's interesting to know the unit does this outside on the range as well... I only use mine indoors in my Sim set up and the red light hang happens every so often. It's more the ghost shots where I do my pre rehearsal half swing and then address the ball again and it sends a shot off. Or chip from 15ft the unit hangs on the red light and then sends a 40 yards shot. 

    However I have been doing a LOT of troubleshooting... A lot! (which is annoying as I don't want to be troubleshooting I want to be playing and practicing). And indoors I have found that my projector now effects the R10. So with the projector on I have all these chipping mis-reads / ghost shots / red light hangs and 40yards.  

    When I turn my projector off these issues pretty much go away. It's frustrating as I have been using my projector with no issues for almost a year now but this recent update for whatever reason doesn't like the projector been on.

    I don't know if you run a projector but I found after a lot of testing if I turn the projector off the chipping is much improved! But it's annoying as you don't have that immersive experience with the projector off. I've been using a projector for about a year and this is the first thing it's don't this so I'm guessing it has to do with the 4.3 update

    The Faraday Cage works!! I built a cage to go around my projector and I hit a few chip shots from 7 feet and the unit reads them correctly and no more projector issues! I'll do more testing over the next few days and make my cage look a little better but it works!

    Before I build a faraday cage I decided to test it in other areas. I took the R10 into the house to hit balls down the carpeted hallway. 1 LED light, not turned on, no fans. First chip and the R10 froze. Then took it outside to the wide open back yard, no reads UNLESS I do the quick backswing but has to be about a 1/2 swing. This is exactly the same as in the garage with the projector so it seems as though it's not the projector. The deceleration that I have to do coming back into the ball is difficult. Before the update I could not waggle the club. A slight movement would start to read. After the update I can waggle but chipping is quite the challenge. Some of my peeps can't get it to read at all. I'm at the point where I wish for auto chip, like auto putt.

    I just bought the R 10, setup everything up and it worked great out of the box. Then I updated to version 4.30, now I can no longer do chip shots. The shortest shots I can make is a 40yrd shot.
