Golf Sim app crashing on new sessions and reviewing sessions

I got an R10 today. I have the S62 and the CT10's as well, so well bought into the Garmin Kool Aid.

Frustratingly today, playing on the Golf sim for the first time, it mainly shows a clack screen with the club selection visible at the bottom and then bombs out and I am taken back to the driving course select page, or the app just closes.

I've tried clearing the cache of the app, and reinstalling the app. I dont think it's related to the r10, but I've obviously recalibrated, and when I do get it running it seems fine.

Reviewing the content today,  I can open the Driving Range to view my session for Palm Island, but I can't see my session from the Distance Range, it behaves the same way as above.

I can send diagnostics, but everything is up to date - Samsung s21, R10 is 4.20 and app itself is 2.7.

HELP!!!!!! 

Also are these stats only visible in the mobiel app, and not the Garmin Connect Golf dashboard? Seems a bit strange.

  • I had a lot of issues with app crashing.

    Previously it was solved by deleting the data (not cache) in app settings. Your data is stored by Garmin, so deleting data on Your phone/tablet should not make You lose any data. Maybe something was corrupt, not sure.

    And today, on range, the app started crashing again. This was my tablet, without sim card, and problem was no network connection.

    Why the app crashes without network connection, I don't know. Should be possible to do a range session without network if You ask me. Anyway, solved by using phone as hotspot.

  • thanks for your comment. It seems to have cleared, it may have something to do with my permissions (camera, location etc) as it seems to have stabilised now. 

    One remaining problem I seem to have is that is despite plenty of room on my device, my photos aren't saving locally in my sessions. I have switched up to a membership to see if they go to cloud (and get Home Tee Hero as well)
