Consistency with spin measurements

Hi everyone, I just got my R10 a couple of weeks ago, and I've been using it outdoors on the matts at the driving range.

Like with Trackman, Garmin has the feature where if the spin number displayed is in italics, it means that the value is calculated, where if it's in normal font, the spin was measured (I'm assuming that is what this means anyway since that is how trackman does it), see attached screenshots.  Calculated values on spin are generally pretty bad (as they are with trackman).

Outdoors, I don't know what the difference between these shots is that makes it hard for Garmin to read sometimes.  Is there anything I can do to increase the consistency of the R10 to measure the spin on more shots?  I have the setup of the device as advised, 7ft behind the ball, and raised on a box slightly above the level of the matts which are on a concrete base.
