What is causing extremely short distances on inside R10 simulator setup?

using R10 inside garage with concrete floor. hitting into a 10'X9' cage with impact/projection screen attached. I have artificial grass rugs from the screen out to the hitting mat to which the center of is 10', I have the r10 set up 7 feet behind the center of the hitting mat. I don't have small section of artificial grass between the r10 and the mat. My yardages are way off, flush hit driver consistently averaging 140 yards, A good 100 yards short of my real outdoor distances. I have plenty of room side to side and at least 12' head height. Any ideas on how to improve the detected distances? How much of an area does the concrete need to be covered for the R10?

  • So many posts on this. Doesn't seem to be an answer. I've tried everything the only thing that seems to work is change elevation in e6connect.

  • Hi, I am having the same problem. Have you managed to fix it yet?

  • How to get accurate numbers with the latest update!

  • I have the same problem. Unit is 7 ft behind tee and net is 9 ft in front of tee. With my 23 degree 4 wood unit reads 74 mph club speed and 100 mph ball speed, After 50 shots shows avg carry 73 yds and avg distance 105 yds. At the range this club will always carry minimum of 150 yds and roll out 10 yds.

Usually about 160 carry with 10 yd roll out. The charts I read show 4 hybrid with 100 mph ball speed should carry about the same as my range

    shots about 160-170 yds.

  • I’ve just purchased the Garmin R10. Jan 2025. I am experiencing the same issue. Does anyone know the best fix? I even took it to the driving range to compare readings to the range cameras and no different, clubs up to 7 iron fairly accurate, after that the short distance readings got progressively worse, driver I hit around 230-250 metres, the Garmin all read sub 200. It’s a real problem.

  • I’m glad someone else is experiencing this and not just me. Up until a month ago, driver and 3 hybrid distances were within range of what I see outdoors and on other simulators. Now (since release of the R50), it is driver is 80-100 yards short and I’ve changed no settings.
Seven iron carries 172, driver carries 202.

  • It’s likely a launch angle issue. Mine worked great when I first got it in December, it’s now virtually useless. I haven’t changed my setup, I’ve reached out to support but nobody ever gets back to you. It’ was good for a while but is pretty much useless now.

  • More than likely it’s a launch angle issue. Up until about a month ago my distances and launch angles were similar to what I might see in real life. Now even clean strikes go much lower, well hit drives show a launch angle of 2-4 degrees and carry less than 150. I can see the ball hit 4 feet up in the net 10 feet in front of me but still get apex heights under 10 feet. Garmin support has been no help as it’s impossible to get to a real person on the phone or get a reply to a support request.

  • Maybe try 5 or 6 feet from the ball instead of 7.  Also remember that it will use Current Weather conditions if not controlled by another app, and that makes a big difference. It's -10 here in Minnesota right now so my distances are severely diminished unless I override the Weather settings....
