R10 Yardages

Off as in long or short?

Whoops, R10 showing short on yardage.

Short.

If you have hard surface for flooring get some foam and carpet down, it makes a big difference, also ceiling fans really mess up the Garmin, also larger furnace fans... my latest discovery suggests cheap LED lighting may also affect its accuracy, once I changed the lighting to quality non strobing bulbs it has made a big difference in percentage of accurate reading.

thx. does the thickness of the carpet matter ? Why foam AND carpet ? Could you give us a few more details about your installation ?

The R10 uses doppler radar - so concrete, other electronic signals, etc, can affect the feedback to the launch monitor. Concrete surfaces can cause radar signals to reflect back incorrectly.

If I am using this outdoors into a net and there is a stone wall 5 yards behind the net will this cause inconsistant results.

There is certainly a chance. Try moving the net away from the stone, or use some plywood to cover the surface and see if it provides different results. 

Also, do you have your r10 on a leveling stand? If the r10 is just standing in the grass, there is a good chance your device is out of perfect level, and that will undoubtedly give you problems. Search for "R10 level stand" in google, and pick one up for 20-35 bucks if you don't have one already. 

Thank you very much for your reply, the problem is with the Garmin Driving range. My yardages are 20 to 30 yards below what I expect. I proved it by using the Awesome Golf driving range 5, 6 .and 7 irons all go as I would expect. Not tried the woods at this stage as I do not hit them very consistantly.

I did not change anything regarding position or settings in both ranges and left the weather settings as default local settings. The R10 is level (used a spirit level to verify and on a stand.

I don't know what else to try as I do not want to pay out a subscription to Awesome Golf, I may Try the Home Tee Hero free trial to see if there is any difference.
