Poor outdoor detection, incorrect Indoor numbers

Had this thing a few months and have to say, very frustrated, especially with the new update. Indoor numbers have been off, mostly spin since the new update, and outdoor shot detection at the range has been more miss than hit. I took my R10 to the range last night ,and only recorded 24 or 85 shots. I moved the unit in all directions, and also reset the device and phone, but couldn't get any reliable detection. The device visually appeared that it was detecting shots. As when I moved the club it switched to red, so it was detection. I am not sure why the entire shot was not captured, but it's extremely frustrating. As for indoor performer, I think it's been well documented on this forum that there is something wrong, but I door shot detection is 98% for me.

How's everyone else's experience at outdoor ranges?

  • well, i took the R10 to the range to test the 4.0 update and results were disappointing. detection went up a bit, it caught 36 out of 85 balls. once thing that really disturbed me though, was the direction was sometimes way off. i hit a shot straight down the middle, and the R10 showed a 45deg shank to the right. i saw this a few other times. i'd like to clarify , this range does not have top tracer, and i never received any "interference" messages

  • been testing this at some ranges, and detection has been really good, not sure if they did a small update beyond version 4.0, but things have been good. i still need to test it at my local range, which was the one i was seeing terrible shot detection on, so i'll report back after i go there.
