R10 first impressions outdoors

Hi,

I’m over in the UK and today I trialled the R10 on my local grass practice range. It arrived yesterday and updated to 3.9 software.

I also own a flight scope memo, but have chosen to purchase R10 over the flightscope pro packages.

I aligned the R10 using two alignment sticks back to back for ball placement, and a further stick for the target line (one long line essentially).

initial impressions are:

1. Shot detection is massively better than my Mevo plus. It detected every shot, whilst the Mevo can be hit and miss.

2. Shot accuracy. On average really good. I hit a selection of irons and drivers, only two shots were totally off. The test were on the money, apart from the odd draw showing more like a hook. I did wonder if the mud on my practice balls might affect the measurements.

3. distances. The drives were pretty much bang on, I walked the practice ground and checked with my laser finder. The irons   Sometimes has a 5 to 10 yard under measurement, I wonder if the mud on the balls affected spin measurement.

4. club data is a tricky one, I generally don’t know my swing path or have measured on a trakman. I can say when I changed my driver to a better on path swing, the r10 detected the change and showed better impact.

overall I’m very impressed with the unit. I only use monitors outside so indoor performance isn’t an issue for me.

I’ll be selling the flightscope, and awaiting to see what new software updates bring on the r10
