Will the type of net I hit into be affecting yardages?

I have a plain black net that I hit into in the garden, I have set it up with the distances provided by garmin, tried giving more ball flight room, setting the r10 up closer and further away than suggested.

My problem is every club is coming 20 yards shorter than how far I normally hit them, I’m running out of ideas so I’m just ruling out the net maybe effecting it?

  • I would be interesting in hearing about this as well.  I am hitting into a Spornia SPG-7 net which is black with a white bullseye.  Distances 25-50 yards short, tried a variety of distances, running out of ideas.

  • I hit into both black netting(rotates in front with ceiling track) and white screen with no changes to distances.  My distance are exactly same to outside on course and range.

  • I have wondered this same thing with so many having trouble with distances.  I have hit out on the range and distances were good.  I got my unit in late August.  Indoors I hit into construction drop sheets and not a net.  I wondered if anything behind a net would interfere with the radar.  As long as I swing as hard indoors and get the same ball speed I get the same distances as I did outdoor.   I can understand how at times its harder to make that full swing indoors.  I had my son who had hit on a GC Quad and his numbers he felt were identical when he hit indoors with my R10.   I did find my distances are more realistic when i use the e6 range.
